SubliGlass instructions
PRESS SETTINGS FOR 3/16" GLASS-TEMPERATURE SETTING - 400º
  INKJET TRANSFERS - 3 MINUTES
LASER TRANSFERS - 2 1/2 MINUTES
PRESS SETTINGS FOR 1/4" GLASS-TEMPERATURE SETTING - 425º
and FULL COVERAGE INKJET TRANSFERS - 3  1/2 MINUTES
LASER TRANSFERS - 3 MINUTES
TRANSFER:
1 - Because you are sublimating to the back of the glass, the transfer must be RIGHT READING.
2 - Make individual transfers for each piece of glass. It is preferable to make the transfer larger than the coated area as the areas not covered by the transfer will have a slightly different appearance than the covered areas.
3 - Laser printers-Set the print density command to the highest setting, without causing severe backgrounding. Check your transfers for any major spotting and scrape off using an Exacto knife.
90 seconds in the press produces very brilliant colors. Some colors may require cleaning with the standard citrus cleaner.
4 - Ink jet printers-The more dense the transfer, the stronger and brighter the colors on the glass. Most of our tests show the best results are obtained when using the maximum density settings. 2 - 2 1/2 minutes in the heat press is acceptable to produce bright, vivid colors.
TRANSFER MACHINE SETTINGS:
1 - Back off the heat platen pressure. Pressure on the glass should be light to medium when locked down.
2 - Set the temperature control at 425 degrees, as most heat indicators read as much as 15º-25º higher than the actual platen temperature.
TRANSFER SEQUENCE:
1 - Place the transfer face up on a light table.
2 - Place the glass over the transfer, with the back (coated side) against the transfer.
3 - Align and square up your transfer to the border that id printed on the glass, not to the edge of the glass. Do this by using a preprinted grid on clear plastic film. These are readily available in any art supply store.
4 - Tape the transfer to the glass, along the bevels. Do not fold the transfer over the glass. Heat transfer tape is not required as the residue from ordinary masking tape is easily removed after the glass has cooled. Never tape to the coating.
5 - Place the glass face down ( beveled or non coated side) on the rubber pad of the heat press. Your will be heating through the transfer to the glass.
6.Cover the entire piece of glass with a Teflon sheet.
7 - Heat the required time. Remove transfer from glass immediately after opening press.
NOTE: EXERCISE CARE WHEN REMOVING THE GLASS FROM THE MACHINE, IT IS VERY HOT!
ALLOW THE GLASS TO COOL BEFORE CLEANING.
GLUING IN BASES- We recommend that the 3/16"glass be glued in the Walnut bases using clear silicon sealant.
CLEANING-There should be no transfer paper residue cleanup required. To clean the clear areas, use glass cleaner.
To clean tape residue, use alcohol or lighter fluid. Laser toners may require cleaning with a citrus cleaner.

GLASS CLEANING TIPS (CLEAR AREAS ONLY!)
The following two items can make life a lot easier.

1. SINGLE EDGE RAZOR BLADES
A must for scraping the clear areas prior to buffing with the steel wool or cleaning with a glass cleaner.

2. #0000 FINEST STEEL WOOL
This is the finest grade of steel wool made. It removes very stubborn spots, such as adhesive residue, water stains, fingerprints, etc. You will be amazed at how steel wool polishes glass.
You can even go very lightly over the edges of the coated areas to remove stains.
